Vita Plume has exhibited her work in Canada, the U.S., Japan, Poland, Latvia, Australia, and Finland. She holds a Master of Fine Art (Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Halifax, Nova Scotia) and is currently Associate Professor Emerita at the College of Design, North Carolina State University (Raleigh) where she taught from 2001 -2012. Plume was the Head of the Textiles Studio at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (Fredericton) from 1999-2001 and Coordinator and Assistant Professor in the Fibres Program, Faculty of Fine Arts at Concordia University (Montreal, Quebec) from 1995-1998. She is retired now and living in Jemseg, NB.
